Commerce Students of Multani Mal Modi College visited Kasauli and Chokhi Dhani

P.G. Department of Commerce, M.M. Modi College, Patiala organized a one-day educational excursion to Kasauli and Chokhi Dhani under the guidance of Principal, Dr. Khushvinder Kumar on 7th November, 2023. A group of 88 students joined the trip under the supervision of Prof. Neena Sareen, Dean and Head, P.G. Department of Commerce. The students visited Manki Point, the Church and the local markets of Kasauli. The students also surveyed The Impact of COVID-19 on the tourist footfall at the Kasauli. The results of the survey indicate that the inappropriate marketing strategy after COVID-19 and the lack of coordination in promoting the destination have led to a decrease in the footfall of tourists by 17.92% at Kasauli. As a result, the sales went drastically down by 24.28% after COVID-19. The results also show that the shopkeepers do not receive any support from the local government However, as per shopkeepers, collaboration with local authorities, the footfall of the tourists might be increased.
At Chokhi Dhani the students were exposed to different aspects of Rajasthani Culture. They relished Rajasthani food and learnt a lot about the history and culture of Rajasthan through different stalls and exhibits. Prof. Parminder Kaur, Dr Gaurav Gupta, Dr Rajan Goyal, Prof. Ravinder, Prof. Vijayata, Prof. Diksha, Prof. Sonia and Prof. Rupinder Kaur accompanied the students on this excursion.

ਸਥਾਨਿਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਪੋਸਟ-ਗਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ 7 ਨਵੰਬਰ, 2023 ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ, ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਕਸੌਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਚੋਕੀਧਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਨੀਨਾ ਸਰੀਨ, ਡੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਮੁਖੀ ਦੀ ਦੇਖ-ਰੇਖ ਹੇਠ 88 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਇਸ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੰਕੀ ਪੁਆਇੰਟ, ਚਰਚ ਅਤੇ ਕਸੌਲੀ ਦੇ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਸੌਲੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਸੈਲਾਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਆਮਦ ‘ਤੇ ਕੋਵਿਡ-19 ਦੇ ਪਏ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਸਰਵੇਖਣ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸਰਵੇਖਣ ਦੇ ਨਤੀਜੇ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਕੋਵਿਡ-19 ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਅਨਿਯਮਿਤ ਮਾਰਕੀਟਿੰਗ ਰਣਨੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਲਾਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਵਿਉੱਤਬੰਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਾਲਮੇਲ ਦੀ ਘਾਟ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਸੌਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੈਲਾਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ 17.92% ਦੀ ਕਮੀ ਆਈ ਹੈ। ਨਤੀਜੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਵਿਕਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ 24.28% ਗਿਰਾਵਟ ਆਈ ਹੈ। ਨਤੀਜੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਦੁਕਾਨਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, ਦੁਕਾਨਦਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਸਥਾਨਕ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਸੈਲਾਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਆਮਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਧਾ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਚੋਖੀਧਾਣੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨੀ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਪਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨੀ ਭੋਜਨ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸਟਾਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀਆਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਕੁਝ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ। ਇਸ ਸੈਰ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੋ: ਪਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ, ਡਾ: ਗੌਰਵ ਗੁਪਤਾ, ਡਾ: ਰਾਜਨ ਗੋਇਲ, ਪ੍ਰੋ: ਰਵਿੰਦਰ, ਪ੍ਰੋ: ਵਿਜੇਤਾ, ਪ੍ਰੋ: ਦੀਕਸ਼ਾ, ਪ੍ਰੋ: ਸੋਨੀਆ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ: ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਵੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।
